Beş Grammy ödüllü kolektif Snarky Puppy, 18 Eylül’de Volkswagen Arena sahnesinde!
Grubun kurucusu ve basçısı Michael League’in sözleriyle, Snarky Puppy her zaman “müziğin sesini önceliklendiren” bir topluluk oldu. Funk, rhythm & blues, hard rock, klasik soul, modern gospel, fusion ve caz gibi geniş bir yelpazeden beslenen grup; kalıplara sığmayan, sınırları reddeden özgün bir sound’a sahip. Onları en iyi, New York Times yazarı Nate Chinen’in dediği gibi tanımlamak mümkün: “Ne olmadıklarına göre değil, oldukları gibi dinleyin.”
Yıllar içinde ses evrenlerini sürekli genişleten topluluk, caz odaklı başlangıcından daha groove’lu, daha duygusal ve dinleyiciyle doğrudan bağ kuran bir noktaya evrildi. 2025 Ocak ayında Hollanda merkezli, caz ile klasik ve popüler müziği senfonik ölçekte buluşturan hibrit topluluk Metropole Orkest ile yeniden bir araya gelen grup, Utrecht’te üç gece boyunca kaydedilen bu özel projeyi Kasım 2025’te Somni adıyla yayımladı. Bu buluşma, iki topluluğun 2015 tarihli ve Grammy ödüllü ortak çalışması Sylva’dan on yıl sonra gerçekleşti.
“Bugüne kadar yaptığımız en iddialı proje” olarak tanımlanan bu dönem, grubun 22 yılı aşkın kariyerinde ulaştığı yaratıcı zirveyi temsil ediyor. Her albümünde yeni bir vizyon ortaya koyan Snarky Puppy’nin kuralı net: “Daha önceki gibi duyulmamalı; müzik bir yere doğru hareket etmeli.”

As bandleader and bassist Michael League explains, Snarky Puppy has always been “a band that prioritizes the sound of the music.” Drawing from funk, rhythm & blues, hard rock, classic soul, modern gospel, fusion, and jazz, the group defies easy categorization. Perhaps the best advice comes from New York Times critic Nate Chinen: “Take them for what they are, rather than judge them for what they’re not.”
Over the years, the band’s soundscape has expanded dramatically—evolving from a jazz-oriented foundation into something groovier, more emotional, and deeply communicative without ever compromising musical sophistication. In January 2025, Snarky Puppy reunited with the Netherlands-based hybrid ensemble Metropole Orkest for an ambitious live project recorded over three nights in Utrecht. Released in November 2025 as Somni, the collaboration marked a decade after their Grammy-winning orchestral suite Sylva.
Described as their most ambitious project to date, this era reflects the band’s constant evolution. As League puts it, “Our rule is that it can’t sound like it sounded before—the music has to feel like it’s moving somewhere.”
On September 18, Snarky Puppy brings its ever-evolving, boundary-pushing sound to Volkswagen Arena for an unforgettable night.
